Food leaders
Our training course for community leaders to learn how to deliver their own cookery classes
Who's it for?
This ‘train the trainer’ course aims to upskill people who are already working in the community – such as teachers, food project leads, youth workers and charity workers – to deliver practical cookery sessions. The in-person course is designed for HAF-funded practitioners who work with groups at risk of food insecurity or have restricted access to food education.
If your community project is not HAF funded, please contact us about our online version.

More about this course
The Food Leaders course is devised and delivered by a number of organisations across Bristol, including Square Food Foundation, The Children’s Kitchen (Feeding Bristol), 91ways, Travelling Kitchen, Coexist Community Kitchen and The School of Food.
It won’t teach you how to cook, but it will empower you to lead your own food sessions, workshops or social eating events in a way that is appropriate to the people you work with. The aim is to support community groups who are working to tackle food inequality and food insecurity, in line with Bristol’s One City Food Equality Strategy.
